Revell Schnellboot Fast Attack Boat Gepard-Klasse 143 A Secondhand
Type 143A (another designation: type Gepard) is the name for the class of German rocket boats. Vessels of this type served in the German Deutsche Marine in the years 1982-2016. In total, 10 units of this type were created. The length of the class 143 ships was 57.6 meters and 7.8 meters wide. The displacement reached approx. 390 tons and the maximum speed – approx. 40 knots. This type of vessel was armed with: a single 76 mm gun, 4 MM38 Exocet missile launchers, 2 MG50-1 machine guns, sea mine dumps and a single GDC RAM launcher.
The 143A class boats were constructed as a development of the Albatross class vessels and are sometimes – not quite rightly – considered a sub-type of this class. Both classes are externally very similar to each other, because they use the same hull and have similar performance. However, they differ in their armament: the Gepard-class ships have a GDC RAM launcher installed at the stern instead of the 76 mm gun. Currently, all Cheetah units have been decommissioned (until 2016), some of which have been sold to Tunisia. They were replaced in the line by the K130 type corvettes (Braunschweig class) with significantly greater combat capabilities.
