The U.S. MIM-23 HAWK (“Homing All the Way Killer”) is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed by Raytheon and first entering U.S. Army service in 1959. Designed to be a mobile system, it was improved in 1971 to the I-HAWK standard with new radar and improved missile guidance, enabling continuous wave semi-active radar homing for enhanced low-level performance. It has been used by many countries and is effective against aircraft, cruise missiles, and short-range tactical missiles
